I managed to get a picture of a couple of finished projects; both completed with some of the yarn that I hand-dyed recently. I have a whole batch more that I am anxiously waiting to put into dye baths. Unfortunately, my family has been hit by a flu-plague. Sleepless nights and a constant need for cuddles and attention don’t leave a lot of time for knitting and dyeing. But I try to get what time I can because knitting is how I unwind and relax.
This cute pair of newborn baby socks was knitted using 4ply yarn dyed with cochineal. They are adorable with a little crochet flower. The pattern and yarn will be available as a kit and we think they’d make a great gift for a new baby. Adding a cuff would also look great. They will be cute in other colours too. I need to get working on dyeing yarn in some ‘boyish’ colours.
I also completed a pair of fingerless mitts using 4 ply yarn, dyed with Logwood. The pattern is Helen’s quick and easy fingerless mitt pattern and we will also be making this available as a kit, using natural, hand dyed yarns. I added a flower detail to mine and also considered adding sequins to give them some sparkle. I may still add the sequins, but I’ll definitely be making more variations. They are fun to knit and great to wear!
